Overview

Nextcloud acts as our private, all-in-one productivity suite, providing a secure alternative to services like Google Drive, Microsoft Onedrive or Dropbox. It allows the whole family to securely store and share Files and Documents, ensuring our data remains on our own hardware rather than a third-party server. Beyond simple storage, it features automatic Photo Backup for mobile devices, integrated Calendars and Contacts for staying organized, and Note Taking for on the go notes. With its easy-to-use web interface and dedicated mobile apps, Nextcloud ensures that our important information is always accessible, synchronized, and completely under our control.

Data Responsibility & Backup Policy

While this server is maintained for family use, users are personally responsible for maintaining their own backups of critical files, photos, and documents. System-wide backups are performed only once per month; in the event of a hardware failure or data loss, any data added between backup cycles will be permanently unrecoverable. Please do not rely on this server as your sole storage location for irreplaceable data.
